Welcome to The Cockpit
Through their dedication, support and energy, South Carolina students have shown that they’re the best student fans in all of college athletics. This year, a new chapter begins with the launch of The Cockpit, the official student section of all of Gamecock Athletics.
The name The Cockpit has unofficially been used for years. The Athletics Department is organizing and embracing that name. Through The Cockpit, all University of South Carolina students will be able to unite together under one identity to bring their passion to a new level while they’re supporting the Gamecocks across all sports.
Over the next few months, the Athletics Department will work with students to build on the traditions of South Carolina and student support at athletic events.

Support All Sports
The Cockpit isn’t just for students at Willy-B… it’s for students at ALL athletic events.
Come Early
The Cockpit doesn’t wait until the the game is about to begin to arrive…. they arrive the moment gates open.
Be Loud
When The Cockpit shows up, they don’t sit down. They’re up on their feet and are as loud as they can to create the best home field advantage for the Gamecocks.
Stay All Game
The Cockpit brings the same amount of energy for the whole game.
Continue the Tradition of Support
South Carolina students are known to help us set records in terms of student attendance… The Cockpit will help continue that tradition of support.
Encourage Others to Come
The Cockpit packs out the venue at every game… no matter the opponent.
What else
Throughout the next couple of months, the Athletics Department will begin to look for passionate students who want to help lead The Cockpit. These student leaders will help promote events and provide input to help take the student section to the next level.
As part of the launch of The Cockpit, the Gamecock Student Rewards Program will become Cockpit Rewards. Cockpit Rewards is designed to reward our most loyal and enthusiastic students who help us create a home field advantage. As students attend home athletic events, they’ll earn Cockpit Reward Points. These reward points determine which students will receive football tickets each week. In addition, students also receive prizes based off of the number of reward points they receive throughout the year.
Students can join the Student Gamecock Club to receive the official Cockpit Under Armour t-shirt. In addition to the t-shirt, students receive additional reward points. Students can join directly in the Student Rewards App.
